One-liner for the week: “The task ahead of us is never as great as the Power behind us. ”
St. John School Open House will be held this Sunday, March 23rd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Start your tour at the school office (located next to St. John Church) and meet with parents, teachers and administration to learn more about all that St. John School can offer your children. All denominations are welcome!
The Lenten Mission for 2014 is scheduled for Sunday, March 23rd through Wednesday, March 26th at St. John Church from 6:30 to 8:30 PM each evening. Fr. Hoa Nguyen from the Ft. Worth (Texas) Diocese will conduct the Mission focusing on “The Catholic Family.” Click here for more information.
4:00 PM Mass at St. Francis de Sales Church MOVED to St. John Church. Due to heating issues at our church, the 4:00 PM Mass will be temporarily moved to St. John Church for the next two Saturdays - March 22nd and 29th. Watch for updates as they become available.
Helping Hands Needed! Father is seeking volunteers to assist with a deep cleaning of St. Francis de Sales Church from top to bottom, inside and out! On Saturday, March 29th from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM we need your help to clean up the church and grounds. Please bring all cleaning supplies, mops, cloths, dusting material and vacuums for inside cleaning. For outside cleanup: gardening tools, brooms, blowers, rakes, etc. If you have any questions, contact the church office or Susan Craft at scraft089@yahoo.com. Please also bring a drink and $5 for pizza to be served for lunch. This is your opportunity to make YOUR church look clean and beautiful again after a long, hard winter.
The Arts & Environment (A & E) Committee is meeting Sunday, March 30 at 9:15 AM (following the 8:00 AM Mass) to discuss decorating plans for Easter. Due to the recent renovations at St. John Church, changes will need to be made this year. We need new, fresh ideas and input from anyone. If you’ve been to other churches during the Easter season, you may have noticed how they decorate – those are the ideas we’d like you to share with us. Please contact Susan Craft at scraft089@yahoo.com or call (502) 863-2046. Look forward to seeing you there!
The A & E Committee is also seeking a new leader. Committee members and volunteers are independent, and capable of decorating the church, but we need someone to take the leadership and organization for this committee. The leader will attend monthly Worship Committee meetings and work with other liturgical ministers. Pray to discern if God wants you (or someone you know) to assist in the ministry. If you would like to assist, please contact the office or email Susan Craft at scraft089@yahoo.com.
