You may also bring umbrellas/canopy tents for shade if needed.
Please read the Directives below.
In case of inclement weather,
you can tune in to Holy Mass on radio station 89.5 FM
PLEASE NOTE: The dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass will continue in the Diocese of Lexington until further notice, therefore we will continue to stream the 9:30am Sunday Mass online HERE for those who need or want to worship from home.
Before attending Mass, please take the time to read the guidelines and procedures that have been put in place to meet the mandates
given to us from the Bishop to keep our community safe:
When attending the Outdoor Mass at Cardome on Sundays:
Communion will be distributed at its normal time during the Mass (after the Consecration)
Please wait to be directed by the Ushers who will assist in making sure that social distancing is practiced. Please be aware of others and make every effort to social distance during the distribution of Holy Communion.
The Cardome front lawn will be divided into 4 quadrants with Eucharistic Ministers for each to ensure that the process is efficient and safely distanced. Eucharistic Ministers will also be stationed on both sides of the Cardome steps.
You must wear a mask in the communion line.
There will be no verbal exchange while receiving the Eucharist. Receive the Holy Eucharist in your hand, Step to the side, lower your mask to consume the Eucharist.
You may go back to your chair for the final blessing as usual.
After the final blessing, please make your way to your car to leave. Please refrain from congregating or socializing after mass is over. This is to ensure that we are following the protocols given to us by the Bishop for safe public worship.
Exit the parking lot to the main drive only (see map below).
Lastly, please be respectful of the parking attendants, ushers and volunteers who have been tasked to ensure that these directives are met. It's a hard job and it is for the safety of all!

Can You Help?
As we continue to celebrate Holy Mass at Cardome on Sunday mornings at 9:30am, we have several ongoing ministry & volunteer opportunities. We appreciate all of our volunteers who make our outdoor masses possible! If you would like to help at this Sunday's Mass, please take a moment to review the volunteer opportunities and sign up via the online link below.
WE ARE IN SPECIAL NEED OF OUTDOOR CANOPY TENTS IN CASE OF RAIN.
IF YOU HAVE ONE THAT YOU ARE WILLING TO LEND, PLEASE SIGN UP BELOW!
A Sign-up link will be sent out each week to help with the ministries we need at the upcoming Sunday Mass. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated. Our Bishop has asked that those who come in closer contact than most such as hospitality ministers and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion be under the age of 60. This is because of the vulnerability of those over 60 to Covid 19. For questions or concerns, please contact the Parish Office at parishoffice@ssfrancisjohn.org
Ss. Francis and John Catholic Parish along with St. John School has begun our annual Raffle. Tickets are being distributed before and after each Sunday mass and through the office at Military street. The request is for each family to pick up and sell at least 5 tickets (if not more). Once again Tickets cost $20 each: First place - $10,000. Second place - $4,000. Third place - $1000. The drawing will be held at Cardome on October 24th, 8PM. Last year we sold 2282 tickets out of a possible 2500.
This gave us a profit of over $30,000. Our goal this year is to reach ticket sales of 2500 which would give us a profit of $35,000. Please note – all tickets whether sold or unsold must be returned to the parish/school. Please do not throw away your tickets as this will lead to lost opportunity for others to sell.
Please contact Chuck Comer (502-867-3557) or Nancy Sebring (859-552-8792) if you have questions regarding the raffle or would like to schedule an alternative ticket pickup. Thank you for your support of the Parish and School Fundraising. (ORG-0289).

We’re looking for a social media volunteers to help fill a creative, hands-on role within our parish. The Social Media Volunteers will work with various aspects of the parish to develop a unified Social Media presence across all relevant platforms, currently YouTube and Facebook, but eventually will include Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and others. We are looking for people who understands third party tools like TubeBuddy, vidiq, Hootsuite, Loomly, Buffer to name a few. Also, a familiarization with SEO, content tags, and other tools would be very beneficial. We want volunteers who have experience from a business perspective in addition to personal familiarity.
This is a great way to give back to your parish and help evangelize and catechize those in our community. You would work with the office and school staffs, Fr. Linh, the Deacons, and the entire parish. Help us reach out in a bigger and bolder manner to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in our parish, community, and beyond. If you are interested,
please send an email to Deacon Tim Stout at tstout@cdlex.org for consideration.

Whether it’s a loss of employment, kids worrying the heck out of you, a spouse who is sick, or any other challenge or loss, sometimes it’s helpful to have a companion. Wouldn’t it be nice to have an “ear” that doesn’t judge – that has no agenda or timetable, someone who can keep a confidence – just to not be so lonely while working things out? Someone who trusts God – but also trusts you-- to work your situation out in your own time? That’s what Stephen Ministers do – they respectfully join you in your journey, listening and offering
confidential support and encouragement.
